Combo Washer / Dryer

August 2, 2006

I just wanted to jump in here and defend the combo washer. I have had
one for the 10 years we've been full-timing and had it transferred from
our 2000 Champagne to our new 2006 DA 33CKRSB. I do ALL my laundry in
it with the exception of the queen mattress pad, blankets and
bedspread. I do clothes, sheets, towels and even throw rugs and it
works great. The added advantage to a combo over stackable is that I
can put a load in to wash and set it to dry and walk away. When I come
back, the clothes are both washed and dried and ready to fold or hang
up. I do not find the heat to be excessive or the slight vibration to
be a problem. And I haven't had to waste several hours in a
laundromat. I would not be without one and would choose it over a
double vanity. Not only is it a convenience, but saves money. With
what I would have spent at the laundromat, I paid for my washer in the
first year.

We have had our combo unit (2000S) in our 37CKRD for 10 months now
and have never felt we were missing out by not having a stack pak
model, it works great, much better than expected, we wash everything
in there, Jeans, sweaters etc etc. Also it saves us loosing the
space above the unit which we have two shelves in for towels, wash
powder, iron etc with room for the laundry basket on top of the
washer as well.
