Why don't more manufacturers provide a retail price sheet?
|
We at NuWa think they should. Customers deserve to know that the factory establishes a reasonable retail price for it's products rather than allowing dealers to set different Suggested Retail Prices for the same product. In our opinion dealers should not be allowed to set retail prices and those prices set by the manufacturer should be reasonable. This unfortunately is not the common practice of the RV industry. Customers should be wary of retail prices, which promise far more discount or trade in value than is realistic. Read the "How can getting less for my trade mean getting more" FAQ to better understand this statement.
A posted price sheet is provided by NuWa for each unit that is sent into the market, which lists the individual equipment options. Options (as well as the base price) are near wholesale priced at significant discounts, which further saves money for customers who heavily equip their trailer.
Two prices are shown on each HitchHiker individual price sheet:
- A typical "industry practice" MSRP, to show how the unit would have been typically priced by most other manufacturers and by NuWa, if we were using a similar retail pricing strategy.
- NuWa's Low Haggle/Near Wholesale Price for those who desire to purchase outright, without a trade-in, or those who desire to trade-in their unit at wholesale value. In order for dealers to justify "buying your trade", they have to do so at wholesale in order to cover the expenses of re-selling and delivering it to the next customer. Some customers will decide to sell their trade themselves, which is fine with NuWa, who wants what's best for you. The practice of many states to charge sales tax only on the difference, and the fact that the dealer has more traffic for the trade and can often sell it sooner, plus the hassle factor of trying to sell your old unit yourself, causes most customers to choose trading in their old trailer.
Trade difference is what matters, and NuWa's near wholesale to wholesale method of trading is transparent and protects customers from manipulative pricing practices.
